Rumbury Grey expected to dominate proceedings in Totnes & Bridgetown Novices´ Hunters´ Chase
Rumbury Grey is expected to dominate proceedings in the Totnes & Bridgetown Novices´ Hunters´ Chase at Exeter in England on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £873 in the end.
Only six runners have been attracted towards the class-6 race, which is scheduled to start at 16:30 GMT. Their names are as follows: Rumbury Grey, Benedictus, Allerford Jack, Pastek, Tork To Me and Lilac Wine.
The going will be good to firm in the 3 mile race, which will certainly test the stamina of all the participants.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Rumbury Grey has the best record in chase races, thus the bookies have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He is in sublime form at the moment and it will be hard to stop him from finishing on top of the table. Due to
this, the bettors will also invest a lot of money in his favour.
The nine-year-old gelding has participated in three chase races until now, winning all of them. He made his debut in February this year and has not looked back since then. He managed to win his maiden race by a neck distance, but the margin of victories
increased over the next couple of events.
The S. Flook’s trained runner is all set to take his fourth consecutive victory in chase races. He will be partnered by Mr R. Jarrett, who has won nine races in this format at a very good strike rate. He certainly has the potential to become one of the best
jockeys in the business.
On the other hand, Benedictus might manage to cause an upset at Exeter today. He has a very good record at the amateur level, but needs to prove himself at this level.
The seven-year-old gelding has taken part in one chase race until now, but failed to make an impression in it. However, he has got another chance to bring up his maiden victory in this form of racing.
The Miss Jane Western’s trainee will be ridden by young jockey, Mr J. Barber, who has just managed to win one chase race in his career until now.
