Rumbury Grey likely to dominate Hunt Staff Benefit Society Hunters´ Chase (For United Hunts Challenge Cup)
Rumbury Grey is expected to dominate proceedings in the Hunt Staff Benefit Society Hunters´ Chase (For United Hunts Challenge Cup) at Cheltenham in England on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. The winner of the class-4 race will be given a cash prize of £3,431.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a stern test, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 3 miles, 1 furlong and 110 yards. The going will be soft and a total of nine entries have been confirmed.
Following are the names of the runners, who will be seen in action today: Coombe Hill, James Pine, Massimo, Openditch, Oranger, Rumbury Grey, Shoudhavenownbettr, Special Occasion and The General Lee.
The bookmakers believe that Rumbury Grey will manage to dominate proceedings in the race, as he has got a terrific record. He will also attract a lot of bets from the punters, as he has got a 100 percent winning record.
The nine-year-old gelding has participated in four races until now, winning all of them. His record at the amateur level was quite impressive as well, but he seems to like running in the chase events.
The S. Flook’s trainee made his debut in the sport this year and he was competitive in his first ever outing. Despite not being the favourite, he gave a tough time to his rivals and finished at the top by just a neck distance.
He went onto improve his speed in his next race, as he won it by two lengths. His performances encouraged the bookies to award him with the best odds in his next couple of outings, which he dominated.
Rumbury Grey won his previous race by a staggering margin of 21 lengths, which shows the kind of form he is in at the moment. It seems almost impossible to stop him from winning the race. He will be partnered by Mr R. Jarrett, who has won 11 chase races
at a very good strike rate.
Only Coombe Hill seems to be in a position to challenge the race favourite, as he has managed to win one chase event out of five attempts. He also secured a couple of runner up positions, which shows that he can fight at the front.
