The Bavarian giants’ chief executive claimed that his side have enjoyed a good start to the season after winning a record opening eight games, and now lead the titleholders Borussia Dortmund by 12 points
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned the German side to not get carried away from their unbeaten start to the league campaign, as it does not guarantee a Bundesliga title just yet. He offered that the Allianz
Arena side should focus on securing the title and they have to be crowned champions.
The Bavarian outfit extended a 12-point gap over last year’s winners Borussia Dortmund, following their 2-1 home defeat to Schalke. On the other hand, Der FCB registered a 5-0 away victory against Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The former Bayern Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan striker suggested that Die Roten have started the season on a positive note after two trophy-less campaigns. However, the BVB have failed to mount a challenge so far. The Black Yellows won
two back-to-back titles and secured the German Cup last season.
"We have had a great start to the season, whilst Dortmund haven't had the best of starts," Rummenigge was quoted as saying in an interview.
The CEO stated that his team have made the achievement of winning eight straight league games, but added that they will have to wait until the end of the season to celebrate the record.
"We have set a new record with eight wins in a row, but we won't be celebrating with champagne yet," he mused.
Dortmund faced a similar situation last year and trailed Bayern by nine points, but were still able to defend their title.
"There are more teams than just Borussia Dortmund. We can be pleased that we have made such a good start to the season and we have learnt to concentrate only on ourselves. If we carry on playing like this, then it will be hard for any opponents to beat us,"
Muller finally concluded.
Moreover, star attacker Thomas Muller insisted that the Reds should focus on competing against the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke, as they are right behind the league-toppers.
