The Bayern Munich CEO has admitted that the Borussians deserved to lift the German Cup as they were the better team on the day.

The Black Yellows have had a tremendous campaign this season and won the league with a record 81 points from the 34 games played. The team defended their league title successfully and have now also won their third German Cup.
Rummenigge claimed that the opposition deserved to win the game as they played some sensational football and totally outclassed Bayern Munich. He insisted that his side’s dominance is over now and Dortmund are the team of the moment.
The chief added that winning a domestic double is not a coincidence and hailed Jurgen Klopp’s side for their composure and determination throughout the course of the campaign. He congratulated Borussia Dortmund for their first-ever
double and is happy that there is great competition amongst teams in the country.
“Borussia Dortmund deservedly won. We have to accept and respect that there is a team in this country that is better than us domestically at the moment. It's not a coincidence that they have won the league title, and they have
now won their first-ever double,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bavarian admitted that his side surrendered in front of a spirited Dortmund team and is confident that Bayern will learn from the mistakes. He added that the team will make sure that they do not repeat the same mistakes

“We have to accept this, and try and do our utmost to turn things around again in the near future. It's not a coincidence if you lose 5-2. This was not a matter of bad luck, but we have to admit that it was an ignominy,” he concluded.
