The FC Hollywood chief has reiterated his stance to sign the much wanted midfielder from the Basque outfit, but suggests that the transfer is being put on hold intentionally by the Spanish club.

"We want to sign Javi Martinez for €40m, but there are still legal and tax problems," Rummenigge was quoted as saying in an interview.

Rummenigge was adamant in not paying a hefty price for the Spaniard, but was convinced in capturing the player after he announced that he was willing to settle for low wages as he wanted to sign for the Bundesliga side.
"We always said that we would never pay €40m for Javi Martinez, but he refrains from high wages to make this possible,” he finally concluded.
