Bayern Munich chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, is delighted with his side’s strong response to a disappointing start to the second-half.
The Bavarian giants downed FC Kaiserslautern 2-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, February 11, to secure their 14th win of the season. Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller were amongst the goals in the match as Bayern made
sure they remain on the heels of Bundesliga leaders, Borussia Dortmund.
Rummenigge claimed that it has been a great week for Bayern as they have recovered well from a poor start to the second-half of the campaign. The Bavarians started proceedings after the break with a loss to Borussia Monchengladbach,
won against Wolfsburg and played a draw against Hamburg SV. But the side has won the next two fixtures against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 and Kaiserslautern and are back on track.
The chairman added that the team is playing some great football at the moment and is confident that Bayern will be consistent in the remaining course of the season.
“It's been a good week, in which we've twice won 2-0. In both matches, the team played some genuinely good football. After our patchy start to the second half of the season, it's important we enter a more settled phase now,” Rummenigge
was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
On the other hand, midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 hailed his side for a brilliant performance and is confident that Bayern will be able to catch Borussia Dortmund in the next few games. The player added that his team was perfect against
Kaiserslautern and admitted that there has been a huge improvement in the displays.
“It was obvious to everyone that we wanted it wrapped up as quickly as possible. Especially in the first half, we moved the ball well, we made very few mistakes, and we scored two goals. We're getting better and better all the
time,” he added.
