Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has hinted that new signing Javi http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 may start his first game for Bayern as early as this Sunday.
The Bavarian giants completed the signing of Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao for an estimated fee of €40 million. The Spanish side were not prepared to let the midfielder go for any price less than his buy-out clause so Bayern
had to pay the respective amount to land the highly-rated 23-year-old.
Rummenigge admitted that Javi Martinez could go straight in to the starting XI on Sunday against Stuttgart. He insisted that the player is fit and it will be up to Jupp Heynckes to decide whether the midfielder would make his debut
or not.
The chief hailed the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international and stated that Martinez has the potential to go a long way at Bayern Munich and admitted that the club would not have paid a huge sum for him if they were not convinced in his abilities.
“The coach has to decide whether he's ready for the squad this weekend. He's a big personality, he imposes his authority, and he already has a strong affinity with FC Bayern, as he’s impressively demonstrated in recent days,” he
was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Martinez expressed his delight on making his move to Allianz Arena permanent. The Spaniard hailed Bayern Munich as one of the best clubs in Europe and is targeting trophies with his new side. The player is looking
forward to make an impact at his new club and his first appearance could be as early as this weekend against Stuttgart.
“Bayern are one of the best teams in Europe and the whole world. There are so many top players here, all of them fantastic footballers. That’s hugely motivating for me. And naturally, I'm looking to win trophies,” he concluded.
