The Bayern Munich CEO admits that the loss at Allianz Arena at the hands of Chelsea still haunts him.
Bayern Munich have had an unlucky season this term as they have once again failed to secure silverware. The team ended the Bundesliga in second place to Borussia Dortmund and lost the DFB-Pokal final to the same opposition. The
torrid campaign continued when they lost the UEFA Champions League final to Chelsea, who went on to lift their maiden European crown.

the game completely.
The chief stressed that the pain is more than the loss at the hands of Manchester United in the final in 1999 when the Red Devils scored twice in the dying moments of the game to lift the trophy. The German giants went on to win

“When I wake up, my first thoughts are always about this game. The pain within our club is so strong, stronger than it was after we lost to Manchester United in the final of 1999,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to a newspaper.
The Bavarian legend insisted that he can understand what the players are going through at the moment as he has also experienced the same when he lost two World Cup finals with the national side. He claimed that the disappointment
took the toll and it took some time to come out of the shock.
“I feel it is going to haunt us for a long time to come. I lost two World Cup finals - 1982 and 1986 - and from my experience, I know that time heals wounds,” he concluded.
