The Bayern Munich chairman expects his side to win the league title next term and is aiming to end the two-year trophy barren run.

The Bavarian giants have played two trophyless seasons and the fans are getting impatient as they expect their side to perform better. The Reds were so close to winning as many as three titles last term but were hugely disappointing
in the latter stages of each competition.
Jupp Heynckes’ side were runners-up to Borussia Dortmund in the league last term for the second straight season. They reached the final of both the UEFA Champions League and the German Cup but failed to pull a result at the last
stage.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed that the team’s main aim is to win the Bundesliga next year as it has been two years since his side last lifted the trophy. He is targeting a successful campaign in the upcoming season and wants to
knock Borussia Dortmund off their perch.
“Our aim, and we are not making any secret of it, is to win the title. We are not going to make any understatements - we want to win the league,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The chief, on the other hand, admitted that the loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the UEFA Champions League final is still a painful memory for his side. He claimed that losing at the final stage is very difficult and the players were inconsolable
after the defeat.
However, the former Bayern Munich man accepted the criticism that the Reds were way below par in the final at Allianz Arena and wasted too many opportunities to score. He added that it would have been a sure shot victory if his
side had taken their chances regularly.
“The Champions League last year and the defeat at home was painful. But we have also got to accept the criticism that we did not win that game despite our dominance and despite having the chances to do so,” he concluded.
Die Bayern will face tough competition from Borussia Dortmund for the title again in the upcoming season. Apart from Jurgen Klopp’s side, Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach are also very strong and will make it hard for the Reds.
