Guerrilla Games is set to tease the next instalment in the Killzone series at the Electronic Entertainment Expo but the question is whether the game will be announced for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita or maybe even the PlayStation 4.
The video game industry is still growing from its humble beginnings but that does not mean that the rumour mill does not throw up a bit of interesting news every now and again. This time around it seems that the internet has picked up the scent of an upcoming
Killzone game, or maybe even three Killzone games.
Confused? Well, the reader should be slightly confused at this point as Guerrilla Games recently teased that it was working on three separate Killzone titles.
It is not alone this time around and has enlisted the services of Sony Cambridge, another first-party Sony developer, to assist it in the development of those titles.
Guerrilla teased the three, as yet unannounced, games on GDC and speculation has since been diverted as to which platforms those games will be releasing.
A PlayStation 3 release seems almost certain and one can expect the teaser to have something if not everything to do with Killzone 4 being announced for the PlayStation 3. At the same time, however, it is equally as likely that the teaser trailer set to
premier at E3 could be of the series’ debut on the PlayStation Vita.
However, seeing that there are three games in the works it would be wise if one hedges their opinions on the three platforms that Sony is and will be offering soon.
So one can safely state that one of those titles is for the PlayStation 3, the second title is for the PlayStation Vita and the third title could be for the as yet unannounced PlayStation 4.
At the same time though, that still leaves the major question as to which one will be teased at E3. A PlayStation Vita Killzone game seems the most likely, however the PlayStation 3 is maturing and another Killzone game doesn’t seem like too bad an idea
from Sony’s point of view.
If it is for the PlayStation 4 though, which is the least likely of the three, one can expect a number of full grown men to need a change of pants once the teaser trailer rolls.
