I wish they would go back to stock cars....go down to the dealership shell out $20k for a NASCAR approved model....strip it down...add safety equipment, big engine and tranny, paint, and race. Now that's run what you brung! Just a silly opinion of mine.

Seems like most forms of racing started that way. Over time that kills of competition though. The lesser teams cannot compete both for wins or for sponsors. Eventually rules are set in place to do some sort of restriction on teams in an attempt to level the playing field...such as engine size and such.

They have to draw a line somewhere. When that happens it creates these type of problems. If they didn't draw a line the cars would be so fast that  they would end up in the stands.

Just ask Richard Petty how it feels to kill an innocent bystander with a race car.

I hear ya! That would be some real racin.

They don't make other manufacturers take a step up...but make Toyota take a step down. It's the new politically correct NASCAR.  Everyone needs to be so darn equal jon the track so we can all watch single file "racing" .
