Run>%temp%. Do I need the files in that folder, or can I delete them to gain hard drive space...?

Some one told me that I don't need them and that my computer may run faster if I delete them..

Any views...?

  1. this is temprary folder for temp files you can delete all the file any time u want, and keep it clean to gain disk space, it does not help in speeding up pc, just to gain space


  2. Run>%temp% will to take you to temporary folder ,it contains file that were created by application for temporary purpose ,yaa for sure if you delete them you will get free space and it will increase your system speed too (if size of temp folder was very big only then).

    Complete address to it is "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp"

  3. Delete all of them, their only temporary files

  4. That will delete those files but you need to run %tmp% also to get rid of the rest of the temporary files.

    You can also type:  del c:/windows/temp*.* and get rid of even more temporary files at the DOS level.
