Runescape Dragon Killing!?

HI. I'm looking for a fun/challenging way to make money. I heard killing metal dragons is not to bad because they occasionally drop good items (eg. dragon legs, draconic visage...). Yes i know the chances of getting a draconic visage are not great (i haven't got my hopes up so don't worry), but i figure why not try it anyway. I might get lucky. So i would like to know he most effective way to kill them (range or melee) and what type of armor i should bring and what lvl i should be, etc... i think you got the idea. all answers are appreciated. thanks. =)

  1. Hmmm ok...

RANGE IS NOT RECCOMENDED!!! Dragons are strong against ranged attacks.... Their weakness is magic but I guess you would prefer meelee.

    Recommended Levels

    43 prayer

Optional: 32 agility (to get past the stepping stones).

Level 70+ to fight Bronze Dragons.

Level 80+ to fight Iron Dragons.

Level 95+ to fight Steel Dragons.

You don't need the exact levels to fight these dragons, but it is recommended if you want to fight more then 2 dragons a trip. Steel Dragons are very tough opponents so you shouldn't try fighting them until you are very experienced both in combat levels and fighting metal dragons. Also keep in mind those are about the minimum levels you should try fighting a dragon. Note that to teleport out, you should have a "one click" teleportation method like a teleport tablet, Ectophial or an elf teleportation crystal (an Ardougne Teleport or an Amulet of Glory can work well too).

If you are a lower leveled player you can substitute a couple Anti Fire-Breath Potions for food. For melee, you should have at least 4 potions, and for magic you should have at least 13 (4-doses). The equipment listed below is generally for higher leveled players because of course, have higher defense so they won't need as much food but you will still need several Anti Fire-Breath Potions.

    What You Need

875gp (905gp if you're not on the island already).

    A hatchet.

    An Anti Dragon Fire Shield.

    ARMOUR AND INVENTORY!

Helmet: Initiate or Proselyte for prayer bonus.

Body: Initiate or Proselyte for the prayer bonus.

Legs: Again, you're going to want to use Proselyte for its prayer bonus.

Boots: Armored boots (adamant or rune recommended), climbing boots, or white boots for added prayer bonus (white boots give the same defense bonus as black boots but also give a +1 prayer bonus).

Gloves: Gauntlets or gloves from Recipe For Disaster.

Cape: Legends, Obsidian, Fire Cape, or Skill/Quest Cape.

Weapon: A Dragon mace or scimitar, or a whip (you can bring a ddp++ and/or a dragon battle axe for there special attack).

Ring: A Ring of Wealth or life.

Amulet: A Power or Fury amulet, or you can use a holy or unholy symbol for added prayer bonus.

Food: Lobsters or better, though food that takes a while to make (like potatoes) aren't the best idea as they can take a while to make so monk fish or shark is a better choice.

Potions: About 15 prayer potions and some combat or super stat potions, and you can substitute food for Anti Fire-Breath potions or vice-versa.

This method is highly recommended as you won't need much food and you can last long with a good prayer bonus and level, though prayer potions can range from 7,000-8,000gp. You can also switch the Anti Fire-Breath potions with food, though it will leave you more vulnerable to their attacks.

    GOOD LUCK

  2. melee but bring a friend who is good at ranged-he shoots you hit and he dies fast
