Question:

Runners calf issues problems?

Seems like after running for a short period of time I develop calf pain that leads to a calf strain if I try to run through it.

It feels like the muscle is cramping, or getting locked up. I had a pressure test to check for compartment sydrome already and it is not that. Any Ideas?

  1. maybe you pulled a muscle from it. if it is a pulled muscle, don't run until it heals and in the mean time keep a heating pack on the area, and once it feels better you can do whatever you want.

  2. WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT I LEARNED A GOOD TRICK TO MAKE IT FEEL BETTER. FILL A DIXIE CUP FULL OF WATER AND FREEZE IT. ONCE IT IS TOTALLY FROZEN RUB THE ICE ALONG YOUR CALF OR HAVE SOMEONE ELSE DO IT FOR YOU. ANOTHER GOOD WAY TO RELIEVE THIS PAIN IS TO HAVE SOMEONE PUSH YOUR FEET TOWARD YOU WHILE YOU ARE LAYING DOWN BUT YOU TRY TO PUSH YOUR FEET TOWARD THEM. OR HAVE THEM PULL YOUR FEET TOWARD THEM AND YOU TRY TO PULL YOUR FEET TOWARD YOU. DO IT SIDE TO SIDE TOO! TRUST ME IT FEELS BETTER. DO IT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES EVERYNIGTHT. GOOD LUCK FINDING OUT WHAT YOU HAVE. IT MIGHT BE SHIN SPLINTS!
