Now that it's summer

I have a lot of free time. I've been running for 2 months now, 2 miles everyday. But now that it's finally summer and I still don't seem to see much improvement in my stomach i want to bump my running to 2 sessions, First right when i wake up and the other like 7 hours later. I'm 5'6 122 lbs , I KNOW i'm skinny but I have some fat in my stomach that i'd like to convert to abs. Anyways , considering I'm really skinny already, is running two 2 mile sessions a day good, a good choice?

  1. you should do sit ups to get rid of the belly fat. Also eating healthy would not hurt if you dont eat healthy already. Crunches help too. Also here is a web sit with some example.

  2. well running is not going to give you the rock hard abs you seem to be looking for especially since your legs take much of the beating when running.  you might want to start including situps during warmups and you should start seeing some improvement.  as far as it being a good choice on whether not to run two sessions, i don't think it would hurt since i run 4 miles at a time.  your prolly gonna be exhausted though!!  good luck!!

  3. You gotta lower your body fat and start doing some crunches.  Get on a healthy diet and lose that fatty layer that's covering your abs.   All the crunches and situps will do nothing until you lower the body fat.

NO you don't need to lose weight.

Doing one workout or 2-a-days won't make much difference unless your body fat gets lower.

    Good Luck

  4. She's not trying to lose weight.  She's trying to lose fat and gain muscle.  That's healthy.

Include abdominal conditioning to your workout.

^It's about getting solid abs for runners [not necessarily a six pack if you don't want but this will help strengthen your stomach]

Running two times day is not a bad idea.  My coach is making me and some other runners run at least run 70 miles a week to get in shape over the summer and he strongly suggested running twice a day.  Once in the morning, once in the evening.  But if you're feeling unusually exhausted after a run, I would call it a day.

And drink lots of water.  Just have to say that.  Don't want you to be running dehydrated in the boiling summer. :D
