Is this bad for my legs ? I run it about in 35 minutes. I am trying to train for college swimming, so I kinda have to. I am slim to begin with, so will this make me become "butch?"

  1. no, running makes legs shapely

  2. have you ever thought about biking and swimming as an alternative? Perhaps you could replace the running 1-2 times a week with one of those activities.

  3. It wont make you become butch but it is not good for your knees to run this much. I would run two to three days a week. If you must do something the other days try cycling. No pressure on your knee joints.

  4. I am assuming you are a woman because of the nature of your question.

I have been running for years, both road races and ultrarunning.  I have seen extremely attractive female runners in every run I have entered.  Their legs were not knotted with muscles.  In fact, it would be difficult to determine they were runners if you met them outside of the running event.

You should not worry about becoming "butch."  Just stay well nourished and hydrated.  You are doing great cardiovascular training if you are running 7 minute pace.  If your swimming adventure doesn't work out, try road racing, sounds to me as if you are natural runner.

  5. No, especially if your slim, running is the best cardio you can do to get in shape the quickest.  Just listen to your body,  if you feel something other than soreness take a few days off.  Can do other cardio stuff as well which will help, but running get your heart rate higher than anything else.  Swimming is probably 2nd best for ya.  Good Luck

  6. id shrink it down to 2-3 miles a night, however, its not BAD for you. Jus make sure to drink plenty of water and eat lots of nutritious food. And its fine. but remember, keep a steady diet of the foods you eat.
