Question:

Running 5km.. how to do it.

I have been running 5km on a tredmil approx five times a week, sometimes twice a day for about 4 months. I'm running it in approx 32 minutes at a steady pace. I have just started running outdoors and mapped out a 5km route, I can't possibly run the entire time. Any advice about how to improve my running, I want to do it without stopping to walk from time to time.

Also, is this regime going to assist in my weightloss?

I am 167cm at 64kg.

Thankyou!

  1. If you are a regular runner, then it shouldn't be so hard.

Last year, when i was in the 7th grade, my coach made me run 7 kilometers, and all I did was jog at such a good pace, and focused on something else other than my speed, energy, and getting tired. I actually played a little song in my head and it got me going completely fine, and I wasn't even that tired afterwards.

  2. Pratice running a mile for one week, two miles te next week, three miles the next and than pratice running 4 and than 5 miles. Doing these greater distances will make running the 3.2miles (5k) easier. Make sure you take a day of rest inbetween every few runs this is the optimal way to train.
