Running Advise?How to start?

I am an average slim girl who is 5'3 and I want to join my cross counrty

team at school.

How do I start?

What should i do in order for my body to be ready ?Should I do squats or what type of exercise?

What should I eat or do?Then over time how can I run faster?What types of shoes work the best?

  1. The first thing you should do is contact your coach because cross country teams usually have summer practices early in the summer and for the shoes it really depends on how you run which you should ask your coach before getting a pair so you will have the right pair of shoes for you.


  2. I would probably start off by running on a regular basis, maybe a mile or 2 or so everyother day,it really depends on you. but just make sure u stretch well before AND after you run.

    as of shoe, i really like addidas or oasics

    theyre really comfortable and even though nikes are really nice looking, i find that the other ones are sorta better to run in
