Question:

Running Injury - Hip Flexor?

I've been running actively for about 4 months now, about 2+ miles a day. I took a week off then went back and ran normal speed the normal distance. Now my hip flexors in my right leg are killing me! But they didn't start hurting while running, it was the day after which seems odd to me because whenever I pull a muscle it hurts when I'm actually doing the activity.

Has anyone else experienced this or something like it? I can't lift my leg, I have to actually manually lift it with my arms or I have to concentrate REALLY hard to lift it through the pain. It also hurts to sit, lay down and walk...standing is really all I can do painfree...

Anyone know how long this may last?

Sorry for all the rambling...I'm just venting because it's starting to get frustrating.

Thanks!

  1. lol, I've gone through it too.

Are you fimilar with lactic acid? I think that you are because you can actually post in a coherent way :)

But anyway, you probably just didn't streach properly afterwards. There fore giving damage to your hip flexor. This is especially important when you start running again.

Another reason is just like you did pull it, sometimes if you have an "aderline high" you won't feel it for a long times (house even). and if you run at night, that could be why.
