Question:

Running Shoes & Dirt?

How important are running shoes when running and jogging or doing sprints on dirt paths? I'm not talking super hard packed dirt or gravel, but just regular dirt like in a wooded trail or path? I know they're crucial if you run on cement (awful idea) or asphalt (also a bad idea), but is it as important when running on dirt paths?

  1. buy a pair that is comfortable.  asics are great.  some people like nike or new blance.  test them out before buying them.  get a pair from a store that is mainly running shoes.  have them  help you find them.  walk in them and run in them.

  2. Yes, running shoes give you the support you need better than other shoes, they make trail shoes also if most of your running is done on trails or paths. They give you better ankle suppot then regular running shoes. It's great to run on the softer suffaces if you can but running shoes will be a plus also
