Running Socks For Blisters?

So i am a sophmore this year on a highschool cross country team. Last year i only barely survived (first 3 mile time a super speedy 40 minutes) but now i've gotten a bit better and are starting to run a little farther and a little faster. But now i have a problem: blisters. I have one on my toe and two big ones and one little one on the inside of my arch. They hurt while i'm running but afterward i pop them and they crust over so it's all good. Anyway i've tried switching shoes, because i figured i couldn't be any worse off. that didn't work. so now i'm on the hunt for socks that will help me avoid these awful things.

Sooooo after all that i'm pretty much looking for socks that you love and even ones that i should avoid. Thanks =]

  1. Wright socks are good, or airators by DeFeet, Sockguy makes some funny ones that are comfortable.  You could also try using body glide where you blister, you can get it at Sports Authority or EMS.


  2. No more cotton socks. Cotton holds the moisture from your feet and that causes blisters. Always wear something cool max or Nike Dry Fit. This will help alot. I am also wondering if your shoes are too loose.

  3. My personal favorite are socks made by Injinji.  They are wicking toe socks that are used by ultramarathon runners. I have never once had a blister while running with them.  Check out their website.  www.injinji.com

  4. there are some awesome socks called "The Wright Sock" which has two layers of fabric so that instead of the sock rubbing against your foot it rubs against the other layer of fabric and it prevents blisters.

    -when you pop blisters make sure you puncture them with the needle at the base where the blister meets the normal skin. drain all the fluid out gently and then leave the dead skin there, don't peel it off, because it will protect you from future blisters while the skin underneath heals

  5. Get some good socks like nike ones but turn them inside out and u should be fine
