Question:

Running a Bakery?

I have always wanted to own/run a bakery. Cookies, breads, holiday items, birthday & wedding cakes, you name it!

Does anyone have any advice, or experience they would like to share with an aspiring baker?

I currently work in an office, management position. Have only a few baking courses, but dream of going back to school for Pastry/Culinary arts. Thanks!!

  1. if you have the drive you can do it. there is always a demand for fresh bread etc. the big 4 (Large supermarkets) sell cheap bakery products at prices most small businesses cannot compete wit, but you have to look at the advantage to why people would come to your store. i think if you are good at baking go for it, you cant beat the smell of a fresh bakery, the stuff from the supermarkets are cheap but are never of any quality. look on government websites for all you need to know on setting up your business. (i couldnt see which country you're from so cannot add any links, good luck)

  2. That's an amazing dream. I always wanted to be a chef or baker or something with food. but it just turned out that I am an awful cook. But I would go for it! You only live once and that could be a lot of fun!
