  1. Depends on the draw of the system.  I typically see fuses leading to the electrical equipment, not from the alternator to the battery.


  2. check the Amp rating on that alternator and use that number without going higher than 10A.

    for example:

    if the alternator is rated at 120A... then use a fuse that is 120-130A.

    and do not replace the wire, add to it. the current will flow on the wire that has less resistance.

    its always a great idea to add a fuse. in any case something was to go wrong (plastic jacket melts and touches ground), the fuse on the wire will just cut and shouldnt catch the car on fire. better to be safe investing 20 bucks on a fuse... than be sorry with a burned car.

  3. Don't use a fuse. Use a fuse link. They are like a wire and they come in different gauges.

  4. u dont need a fuse to go from the alt. to the batt

  5. i agree wit sick214 i would also run 5ga on the negative side of the battery to chassis
