Does anyone have a good training plan for a novice runner to build up to running a marathon?

  1. Check out Runners World's website.  They have a program called Smart Coach, where you put in your information and what you want to achieve, and it will give you a good plan to follow.


  2. There are many good training programs out there for getting you to the finish line.  Most are around 4 months in length.  The assumption is that you can comfortably run 10K without stopping and are currently doing about 25 – 30Km per week.

    Also I personally would recommend, that you have at least 1 year under you belt of running.  This base will help greatly coming into a program.
