Question:

Running and drinking H2O?

Everytime i run and i try to drink H2O while i am running i get very nauseous. Does anyone else have this problem?

I am fine if i drink before or after i run it is just while i am running.

  1. yes, it happened to me yesterday actually

    since it was so hot out my coach gave us a couple water breaks

    and after each one i felt sicker

    i normally dont drink while im running

    and i believe that its because the water hasnt gotten to your stomach so therefore you feel sick

Sounds like you may drink too much at a time... try taking little sips frequently rather than drinking in big gulps.  If that does not work, then drink before and after.  Just make sure your well hydrated (you'll know when your hydrated when your urine is clear).  Just don't run in the heat of the day - due to dangers such as heat stroke. (signs: nauseous, dizzy, headache - if these symptoms occur, stop running, find some shade and cool down with a cold drink.)  IF this is what your experiencing, try running in the morning.

  3. If I drink right before or during my run, I can feel and hear the water splashing around in my stomach and it gives me cramps and makes me nauseous. Try drinking though out the whole day and a little before you go on the run, then after you can drink as much as you like.  

  4. If your run is a half hour or less, you don't need to drink.  If you are going longer on a hot day I would go with the sipping device.

  5. here's what you do: drink alot of water before your run and then drink a lot of water after your run.

  6. No I don't have this problem.  Then just drink it before or after.
