  1. This site may help with your question.

As mentioned, you would need a diesel engine, but otherwise, you can produce the fuel at home.

  2. a gallon of petrol and a lighter but dont stand to close!

  3. Assuming you have a diesel, you could get a simple extra line put on fuel line, switch manually after warm up,switch back when stopping engine, and should not be a problem in warm weather. If you had a little mini tank rigged up under hood, you could just heat and add yourself, which would take you 10 or 20 miles no problem.

  4. All you need is available now.

You need a separate tank, 6 way motorised valve or 2 solenoid valves, filter unit, various heaters, and a main heat exchanger plus a couple of thermostat switches. A few other switches/ relays/lights and that's about it.

You can buy off the shelf kits, but do your reading - and buy second hand to be cheaper.

  5. Your car engine would need to be diesel. Gasoline engines will not work on these heavy oils. If it were diesel, then there are pre-heaters, special filters, etc to accomodate the vegetable oil fuel.
