Running cramp?

I want to start running on a daily basis. I started yesterday and ran about a few minutes but when I slowed down I got this cramp and felt like I needed to use the bathroom. Are there things I should be doing? Like pretraining?

  1. I have the same problem... except for the bathroom part, and for freshman soccer this year, and we have to run 3 miles in the morning, and 3 miles in the afternoon... EVERY DAY!

  2. pee before you start

  3. You don't start running by running...you start by walking, then walking fast, then running.  The cramp is from lack of Oxygen.  I find when I am running that if I deep breathe I can eliminate the cramp without stopping.

  4. Hydrate before and after.  Some would say during as well but its hard to carry a water bottle when you're running.

  5. Eat high fibre and lots of fluid then go to the loo before you start. Start by walking then build up, definitely do a warm-up.

Take water with you and sip small and slow regularly.

Like, maybe walking up to your park and then running there, and walking slowly back.

The impoirtant thing is to build up to the run and then slow down after the main bit. If you get it again, slow down, don't stop but walk maybe unless it hurts SO MUCH. then stop and running, rest and go home.

It could after all be a medical issue! (i hope not)

I findit sliughtly helps me to pinch where the stitch is wuilst running.

hope you don't get it again, but good that your keeping fit and running!

  6. before you start running you should make sure youre eating the right food and it should be consumed about half an hour before you start so it can settle

the pain you got could be because you werent used to the work you were putting on your muscles and they werent used to it u shud also make sure u stretch properly before u go for a run
