  1. not your whole body but its a great exercise

think swimming helps almost your whole body though..

  2. Running is great exercise, but it does not work out your whole body.  It works out certain muscles in your legs and butt, and your heart and lungs, and will help you lose/maintain weight.  It does not do much for your upper body, nor for certain leg muscles.  I would recommend that you also do calisthenics regularly, such as push-ups, sit-ups, squat thrusts, mountain climbers, and also supplement with other exercises such as biking or swimming.   Here's a terrific guide to learning about fitness on the Internet.

  3. not your whole body but it would be really GOOD.

running in the morning will speed up your metabolism throughout the rest of the day.

and its a good way to start out the day.

  4. I'm not sure about your WHOLE body, but it definitely works your legs and your heart, and lots of cardio is good for trying to lose weight, so yes, I think it does most parts of your body, except for the arms, but you can solve those w/ some push-ups and swimming w/ swimming buoys between your knees helps, too. :)
