Question:

Running every morning.?

Since summer is starting, I'm going to start running every morning. Not for a long time, just about 10 minutes, up and down a small hill. How affective do you think this will be if i keep up the running every morning? [going at a running pace, not too fast.] I want to lose about 5 pounds ;] I'm limited to time because my school year still isn't over & i have a time limit because i would still have to get ready for school.

  1. i think thats good that you got the discipline to do that. even the smallest things make a difference, so keep doing what your doing. you'll have to keep at it though, cuz it wont come overnight

Not the most affective but it will help lose weight if your also eating right and drinking plenty of water.  With 10 min. of easy running which you stated your only burning about 90-130 calories each time out.  With your limited time I say do that 10 min. run 5 days a week and then choose a weekend day and run for 30-40 minutes and take the other one off to rest.  Eventually after a few weeks though you will have to try to get in more than 10 min. each time or it won't help much I'm afraid.  Good Luck

  3. try running 3 miles instead of 10 minutes, thats too short.

    and dont expect to lose weight, running isnt good for that, walking drops pounds

  4. Thats is a good part of a plan.. but you should mix up your distance and course. This will make you a better runner overall. Have fun with running,,, it will make you want to do it more! :)
