Running faster.....with rubber bands on heel???

Hey, i heard that running with a rubber band wrapped around your heel and toe helps you go faster. Is this true? I just want to to test it out for fun. Any other things that you can do to yourself or put on that make you go faster?

If anyone had tried this, let me know. And how exactly did you put the rubber band on? Like wrap around your heel and then bring it under you toe? Or another way?

Thanks :D

  1. Sounds like bologna to me.  What will actually help without doubt are a pair of performance shoes designed for your type of competition.  In other words look into buying spikes or flats depending on your season and event.  Spikes for track and cross country and flats for indoor and road running.

  2. stupid question how does putting more weight on yourself help u .unless u are fat then no comment!

  3. BS. You actually even believe this nonsense? If it was true, you would see ALL runners wear a rubber band around the heel.

  4. That sounds like it could be painful

  5. Try it and see how it feels

    :]

    sounds like fun to me

  6. All I can guess is that the rubber band creates a reminder for your foot to dorsiflex which is the correct running position for your ankle.  Otherwise this sounds like bunk. . .

2 proven ways to get faster:  more efficient movements or more power in the ground. . .

    Good Luck!
