Does running in the mornings help boost your metabolism during the day? I run in the mornings when I wake up before I eat or do anything.

  1. actually it's best to eat a little before you run or at least to drink some OJ or water before, because it gives your metabolism a kick start. If you do not do that, without food for more than 6 hours, your body goes into starvation mode (weird, huh?) and it actually transfers everything you eat after this 6 hour period into fat so that while your in starvation mode the calories burn a lot slower. so start of your morning with even a peice of dry toast and juice it really helps your body burn calories better.


  2. Yes it does. It gets your body started for the day. While going about your daily activities your body tends to loosen up more than if you ran at night then went to bed. You may also sleep better by running in the morning.
