  1. that used to happen to me all the time...ice helped me a lot...also i lightly stretched about 4 times a day and that helped too

  2. i have never heard of someones shins stop hurting when they start running. usually when you have shin splints they hurt while you are running. but i wouldn't say you don't have some kind of shin splints but that is a little odd. i would treat your shins like you have shin splints. you should ice them as much as you can. also stretching out your calves a lot after your run can release some stress that has built up around your shins from your run. also doing shin exercises with a rubber band help to built strength in the muscles around your shins. to do the shin exercises if you get a stretching rubber band and attach it to a leg of a table and put it around your foot and move it forward and back 20 to 50 times and side to side 20 to 50 times.  these are just some basic things that will help your shins but there are many most exercises and things like that to do if these don't help.

    hope this helped :)

  3. I share your pain (and it is very painful!). This tends to happen when you run on cement. Constantly running on cement causes a lot of stress in that area because of all the impact. Try to run on a different surface and see if the pain lessens. There is not much you can do to relieve the pain besides ice and anti inflammatory. Try stretching to relieve pain or tenseness in your calf.
