  1. The only issue would be that exercise late at night may affect your sleep.  That is assuming an adequate cool down.  Since you use a treadmill I would suggest you work out earlier if you can.

  2. actually, i think it has a lot to do with the effectiveness of the run. If you run at, say, 7 in the morning, this gives your body time to stretch, yet heal, at the same time, as throughout the day you are walking, standing, etc. However, if you run in the late pm hours, you fall straight to sleep. Even IF you stretch and/or cool down from a long run, the lactic acid is still building in your legs (the stuff that makes your legs feel like you can't get up). By falling asleep with the lactic acid build-up, legs become very fatiqued throughout the night, and have NO chance in recovering.

I would suggest morning or afternoon runs simply because it gives your body time to somewhat "recover" with the walking, standing, and jogging. If you DO want to continue running later in the evening, I would suggest AFTER your run, stay on the treadmill and run or walk at a very easy speed, no resistance for 15 minutes. You should be BORED during this time. This gives your legs a chance to sweep away the harmful lactic acid that built up during your run. If you run later, you should also take a cold bath, this rushes fresh, new blood to your legs, again, sweeping away lactic acid.

you want the full advantage and effectiveness from the workouts. Cool down if running at night (and even in the morning). Stretch.

  3. well i love to run at night =)

i find it funner and that i can go longer.

if running late will keep you awake during the night then its probably not the best idea. you gotta be careful running at night outdoors. wear reflective clothing and i always go with someone else or with my dog, its unsafe to run alone at night.

there is no reason its bad for you its the same as running in the morning for the most part! good luck and hope it helps!

  4. I've never experienced a problem with running late at night. I would imagine that it might be able to affect your ability to sleep though.

  5. Why would it make any difference if you run early or late?

    The conditioning is the same.

If someone insists it is bad to run at night ask them to explain, I would like to know a real reason myself.

  6. There are only 2 potential problems with that:

    1) If you were running outdoors, safety is kind of an issue--young girl running after dark...  (but you have a treadmill so that's fine.)

    2) Sleep issues. I personally noticed that when I run in the evening it takes me longer to fall asleep, but that's because after I run, I feel like, totally wired. For some people maybe it's not an issue, but it is generally recommended to not exercise within a few hours of bedtime.

But if these aren't a problem for you, then go for it. Have fun! :)

  7. personally i dont think it makes any difference
