Running longer distances - help?

I am entering high school and i am training for hs track. I can run about 1.5-2 miles at once without stopping but i was wondering how long it would take me to be able to run 5 miles consistantly if i train 6 days a week? Also any workout tips would be helpful.

  1. Make sure you eat enough, and basically just run as far as you can without stopping. You should have a day to rest between workout days, and make sure you stretch properly.


  2. stretch, protein, focus on your breathing, run fast up hills, sprints, drink a lot of water, have fun! i havent tried yoga, but ive heard it helps.

    it shouldnt take too long.  increase your milage by a mile a week.  take 1 day a week off as a break.
