  1. Music preferences when running vary by person. If you don't run often, I would suggest listening to music during your runs; it helps distract you from the monotony of running and the pain you may feel.

Any upbeat or inspiring songs are great to run to. I don't suggest playing any extremely fast, exciting songs unless you're doing speedwork. I just skimmed my iPod playlist, and here are some good songs to listen to while running:

Eye of the Tiger-Rocky Theme Song

    Run It-Chris Brown

    What You Got-Colby O'Donis

    Face Down-The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

    Pocketful of Sunshine-Natasha Bedingfield

    Low-Flo Rida

    Break the Ice-Britney Spears

    Never Again-Kelly Clarkson

In Love with a Girl-Gavin Degraw

    Feels Like Tonight-Daughtry

    All Around Me-Flyleaf

    Love in this Club-Usher

    Barbie Girl-Aqua...haha:)

  2. Wow, sorry, but that is incredibly cheesy. I was sort of with you until you said Rocky themes.

When I run on the elliptical I listen to rap or hip hop- Juvenile, stuff like that. X Clan. Pharrell. Something that has rhythm.

When I run outdoors, I don't listen to music. I run with my mouthpiece in so I get conditioned to breathing with it in. I pay a lot of attention to my breathing; music distracts me from that sometimes. I never listen to music when doing sprints.

  3. yes because rock themes and playing instruments is cheesy?

  4. groove oriented metal. It must have a constant tempo and at the speed I like. Bands like Down, The Sword, Amon Amarth, Etc.

  5. Actually, it happens like in middle school I did my science expirement on this. I remember that fast paced and loud music has some effect on your brain, which made you go quicker. So genres like eminem would be fine. Personally, I like to listen to happy songs, not depressing songs that remind you of the pain your in.
