  1. I would suggest against taking pills as a solution. You may increase some vitamin intake, but i don't think that will help with the hip problem. I would go to a running shoe store, (look for a Fleet Feet) They can watch you run and see how your foot lands when you run. They can suggest what the best running shoe is for you.

Make sure you stretch before each run, you may have aggravated a muscle. You should also stretch after you run also and have cool down walk of maybe 10-15 mins. Put some ice on the area after the run. If it is still bothering you for days following a run, then try heat at night. Place a heat pad on the area while your watching TV or relaxing.

If you are able to, try seeing a sports clinic. Find out if your insurance covers it because they can be costly. But they would be able to tell you why you are getting the pain and give you specific stretches or exercises to work out the area. Regular doctors may try to generalize too much. If they aren't asking you to run so that they can see how the problem might occur, then they probably aren't helping.

Hope that helps. I keep a runner's blog if you are interested. It usually has some good tips and stories. See Below.

  2. Last year, about 2 weeks into cross country work outs at my school, my hip started killing me and I started taking these pills my mom suggested. We got them at the dollar general so they were cheap. They say glucosamine chondroitin. I started taking 1 a night and my problems went away after just a few nights.

  3. I hear you, when i started running my feet hips and stomach hurt i went to the doc and they said its just how your body reacts to running that much cause i didn't really run that much and then i started to push my self More and more and got worse i tried new shoes and that didn't work but then he recommended pain patched, they go hold and cold and i did that and it worked,so there's some advice try it,it never hurts to try.bye
