Running on grass better than road running...?

firstly i am i keen runner i am training for the royal marines every day.... i know that you will get a slower time running on grass than you do road but i am wondering how much slower?...my current 1.5 m time is 9 min and 36 seconds . how faster would this get if i were on road?

because let me explain i need to run on a treadmill tomorrow for my pre joining fitness test will the marines...

  2. yes because it isnt as hard as asphalt/cement and isnt as harsh on the joints

  3. Grass is much better for the health of your joints and muscles.

    It might be slower if you are racing, but when you are training the time is not going to be significant.

    Your times could be better if you are racing rather than just training do to the effort you are using.

    Running on the treadmill can be hard if you are not used to running no a treadmill. The treadmill will force  you to  maintain an even pace and is flat.

    I think you will do much better in the test than you have been doing on the grass.

  4. YES it is DEFINATELY better to run on grass than on the road, but however it slows you down in races, but is EXCELLENT training and better than road running by far for training and improving the strength of your ankles.
