Hi, i love running and on cross country, except tody i went to the gym to run on the tredmill and it was harder. Like, i want to let go of the bars u hold except i'm afraid i'll fall. Do u think it's harder to run on the tredmill than on land?? I don't want to know i'm the only one who thinks it's hard and how do i get better on it also????

  1. It's actually harder to run outside than on the treadmill....the treadmill is a softer surface and it's in motion which kind of gives you additional momentum.  You can let go of the bars, you won't fall.  If you are enjoying running outside I would stick with it...it can get kinda boring running on the treadmill.

  2. You definitely want to work on letting go of the bars. It should get easier if you relax and give it a try. Since the treadmill always has a nice smooth, predictable surface that's free of cracks, roots, holes, bumps, etc., it should be easier than running outdoors.

If it helps, maybe you should try walking on the treadmill (without holding the bars) first and gradually increase the speed.
