Running or Jump Rope; one better?

Just wondering the difference between, say, running for 20 min vs. jumping rope for 20 min (one more efficient? easier on knees/feet?) I run now but have pretty flat feet, didn't know if the jump rope would be a better way to get some cardio done. If not, any advice on insoles or shoes?

  1. runnin

  2. TRUST ME RUNNING IS A LOT BETTER

  3. I'm a big fan of both,

But jump rope works you alot faster,

    And works more muscles.

    Running is awesome though,

Nothing beats a nice run on a beautiful day.

  4. running is better cardio wise but jump roping gives your legs an awesome fast twitch muscle workout. but overall running is better, if you are looking for something easier on the knees and feet try running on soft surfaces such as grass or dirt. Track surfaces are also better than pavement or concrete. If you have to chose between running on pavement and concrete run on pavement it is a hair softer than concrete but not much better.

Insoles would be a good idea for you. Go to a good podiatrist to get a good set of insoles.
