Running outside by myself?

i have a small problem i really need to exercise and i do everyday by running on a treadmill but i know that isn't helping me really but i am too shy to run outside by myself i tried getting a friend to go with me but they never will so i am kind of stuck with myself but idk why but i am too scared to go by myself and i wouldn't know where to go i like that on a treadmill you can stop at any time and be done i also like that on a treadmill you don't have to look okay to start running i feel if i go outside i have to fix my hair or something what should i do to help me get a better exercise or is there some good advise for running outside by yourself?

  1. yea run in the morning or late a night cause the hotter it is the faster u run outta breath and take an ipod or a head set with you so u wont pay attention to other people

  3. Just run very early in the morning when there are very few people on the streets. That's what I do. As a side benefit, mornings are also cooler and the air is cleaner than during the day.

    I also was embarrassed to run outside at first, but I noticed that after I get tired, I don't give a sh*t what others think about me. :) Now I could run through downtown without much problem, provided I was in my "groove".

  4. I agree always get up earlier its a good wake up and a better run.  But you shouldnt be self counsious about running, I have seen 80 year old men in short shorts running up and down the roads in the middle of the day I am sure everybody would rather see you than that.

  5. i feel the exact same way. i like running and have wanted to go for a run all summer but i feel weird. i don't want everyone in the neighbourhood be able to see me haha. i tried to get my mom to ride a bike beside me but she wouldn't. i would try getting a mp3 player and listening to it that way you have something else to focus on other that thinking about what is going on. and as for your hair and stuff just put it in a ponytail with a head band. if you see anyone they will understand of your hair doesn't look that good because you were running.  

  6. run really early in the morning. you dont have to fix your hair, just tie it into a ponytail or a bun. if you live in a street type neighborhood just circle around it a couple times, so that if you want to stop, it wont take you long to get home.
