Do run by time or distance? For example, do you run for 30 minutes a day or 4 miles a day?

  1. Time, timed runs are much better.  In fact, one you run more then you know how much time a certain distance will take.  For example if I want to do an 8-8.5 mile run I know that takes me about 60 minutes so I do a 60 minute run.

  2. I run mostly distance but I do keep a journal to record my distance and time in my journal.  I run 3-4days a week approx. 25-40kms/wk and 30-65km when training for a marathon

  3. distance

when im training for a race, i use both

certain distance in a certain time

  4. i like to run by time, just because sometimes it takes me longer to run, say 4 miles than other days

  5. I recognize it as a distance. But I time it. :D

  6. definately distance, because im a distance runner and we try to get in as many miles as possible

  7. distance

  8. I run by distance only, I try to average between 20-30 miles per week.

  9. time because as you get better and faster the same time will be a greater distance and therefore a better workout. so i run 60 minutes on long runs, but i do have routes that i know are 10 miles, but right now that is about 60 minutes

  10. Distance but I don't stick to a set in stone plan, if I'm suppose to run 7 miles and don't (only run 5) then I'll make it up another time in the week running extra when not expected!!
