i ran for the first time in two days today and when i did my calves were like flexing the whole time...u know that feeling? I didnt know what to do so i walked and they felt better. what is this from? and what can i do to help it?

  1. warm up

    stretch calves

    start run

    stop & stretch partway through

    it's just muscle fatigue which causes them to tense up

    stretching is the best solution, or you could try a hot bath or putting a hot water bottle on them to relax them more


  2. Do leg stretches before running.

  3. You could stretch before you go running.  Or you could try slowing down a little bit, to give yourself time to develop your muscles.

  4. You are just a little sore. You should stretch before and after running.
