Running shoes, on a tennis court.?

I just bought new running shoes, for running. my friends want to play tennis tomorrow. If i wear them on the tennis court is it going to chew up my shoes?

  2. yes it will chew up your shoes and you may get hurt on the court! running shoes are not designed for lateral movement.

  3. Yes, I played with Gel Nimbus and it tore up my shoes and they look bad now. Nike running shoes are good for tennis, however.

  4. it depends how hard you play. tennis is really hard on shoes, with all the abrupt direction changing and such. if you and your friend are good, and will run a lot, i would wear older shoes. if you are really into tennis, you should get some tennis specific shoes that have thicker, more durable soles that can withstand tennis. if you want some, you can find some at a place like Sport's Authority or a pro shop, or you can get good, cheap ones online at www.tennis-warehouse.com. the Adidas Barricades are a good choice, and they last forever.
