I want to get good times. I ran some of them and want to compare to what you think I should get and I need to know what I should get in others. For some weird reason I am in 4th place in the mile (fast class) and really good at the 400. Usually I hear you should be good at 200 and 400, 400 and 800, or 800 and 1600. Age is 10. Advice and average (times for a 10 year old) on any of these races would help.

  1. The problem is that no one can be good running ALL those races. You have to decide whether to take the sprints (100, 200, 400) or the longer races (800 and 1600)

I did not know that people ran the 600 though

  2. Ok  I would estimate for 10 years old:

    100:About 14 maybe

200: Don't know have only ran once  but maybe 29-31

    400: 78-82

    800: 2:56-3:06

    1600: 6:45-7:15

I dont know how good you are but I would say this about right for a 10 year old.

  3. 100-17 sec

    200-37 sec

    400-1min 20 sec

    800-3 min

    1600-6min 30 sec

congrats on your successful start to your track career and good luck in the future!
