  1. I ran the mile and a half so this is a little different, but not too much. Get out in front at the gun, stay on the inside lane, and breath through your nose only at first. If you feel like you aren't getting enough air you can open your mouth. keep a steady pace through the second and third lap, pick it up a bit for the last lap, then sprint the last 100 meters. Thats how the kids at my school do it, and we are county champs. By the way, 7:42 isnt a completely terrible time, my best time for the mile and a half was 10:23

  2. Breath in and out rhythmically to your favorite song beat... it helps me so much. Just like almost like a pregnant lady, but to a song.

  3. Well I work a lttle differently than most people. If I run really fast for the firsst lap or 2 and then start walking and running fast again I dop better than pacing myself.

  4. slow start see how u feel. instead of speedy start and dying and still 3 laps to go.

nergative splits slow faster and gain speed instead of loosing..

i run mikle alot but im expierienced @ it and i have a diff strategy bu good luck

  5. Wow..Dude, your sprint times are awesome..I run my mile in 5:50 but I'm nowhere as fast in the 400m or 100.

Your speed is very good, just keep it up, it takes a bit of getting used to to run the mile keeping your pace.

  6. Breathe in the nose and out the mouth. Try to get a good lead in the first lap and then coast the 2nd and 3rd lap, then pick it up and give it your all in the last lap.

  7. Nice 400 time!!

I'm in seventh grade and I am a distance runner.

    My best 400: 1:05

    Best mile: 5:41

Try running next to somebody, teammate or opponent.  Or try to beat somebody and try to stay in front of them.  That helps me!!!!

  8. WOW those are all amazing sprint times!

umm ok the 1500 it's a very tough race and you need to spread your energy through out the entire race. Basically the 1500 is somewhat a sprint too. It's a more relaxed sprint. For breathing just keep your form and your stride, and stay relaxed, the breathing rythum will come to you. Good luck and Im sure you'll do well. oh and also make sure to get a really good warm-up before your race and cool down is important too and Stay hydrated!

  9. You need to work on your hurdle form, if you can run 48 for the 400 you should be running much faster than 46 for the 300IH.

If you run you should know that you just breath. Take in enough air for the speed you are running.

Most people can not get in enough air through their noses if they need lots of oxygen, so people use both their noses and their mouths.

As far as your body is concerned it doesn't matter how the air gets inside it all goes to the same place.

Take full, deep breaths. Try not to gasp or pant.

Run at your own pace if you aren't racing then just run comfortably.

If you are running for time then you should push it, but you still need to run evenly for the distance, just feel your pace.

  10. Stay what you are  comfortable w/ than and the end when everyone is tired sprint ahead.
