  1. im a runner in xc and track and i say u can beat that record if u go for long runs, intervals, speed drills, and hills and if u do those workouts it should take three weeks cuz i did all that training for a two mile and i dropped a little over 12 seconds and i did the training for a week. and im a freshman guy and my mile is 4: 58 and the 2 mile is 10:44. it also helps if you feel like u are slowing down on the third lap u should push yourself even harder and then on the fourth give it all u got

  2. I was in track and cc too in high school; I found that the best way to improve overall running is training on hills/mountains- it builds endurance and explosive power you'll need to reach your goal. Good luck!

  3. Thats a lot of time to drop. It will not happen at once. So be patient and work hard and if you are than you will give yourself a shot. Nothing is garunteed though so don't make breaking that goal your only focus in running, do it because you like it.
