I just started a on line class but my teacher says that since i have a mac that i will have to install windows on a separate partition and then load Windows on the MAX in a dual-boot setup. What does this mean? an extra hard drive? I have that . And how much is windows for mac? I just want to know if its worth me taking this class this semester.

  1. Yeah it means you install windows on a separate hard drive, and then you use a boot manager so when you turn on the computer you chose MAC or the WINDOWS OS. I dunno if they even sell windows xp anymore, but windows vista goes for about 100$[or was it 200$? dont remeber]

And a mac is a mac. I don't know if it's possible to run widnows on a mac.

  2. well u can put to operating sytems on ur computer. Ur computer will ask witch one you want to boot up i would buy windows vista and istall it to a partion on the hardrive u can really mess up the computer if u dont no what to do so type it in google and it should give u a good sit that tells how to do that just type in something like dual windows vista os on my mac something like that.

  3. You need to buy windows (probably XP) for about 90 dollars, then use the apple utility Boot Camp to install it alongside OS X. Apparently it is pretty intuitive to do. You do not need another hard drive, but some of the space on your current drive will need to be used by Windows.
