Running with injury?

Hey, im 15 and i recently pulled a muscle in my back really bad, but its only been 4 days and it feels so much better. I was advised not to excersize for at least two weeks, but i ran home from my friends house today and i have to say i felt great.

My question is, i want to go out for a run every morning and need to know if its ok to or not

If you can answer that i will be grateful, and if you can tell me a good running method (like how long to run/walk to expand running potential) i will be even more grateful.

Thanks!

  1. If you were advised by a doctor or your coach not to run for 2 weeks then you are risking an even greater injury, by putting those damaged muscles in strenuous activity.  If running is in your future then follow the advice, if you don't care about it then do what you will.

  2. Listen to the doctor two weeks

your body is still growing and you could do some permant damange

of course you feel better after the run you were full of endorphins

rest your back and you will be okay in a couple of weeks

or run now and risl permanant dammage

  3. do not run trust me

  4. i would defiantly not run for at least two weeks like you were told. just because you felt good for one run doesn't mean that you are fully healed. it may not be fully healed yet and then you go back into running and it can get even worse and you could be out for even longer. you should do some other sort of exercising that wouldn't be hard on your back like swimming or biking on a recumbent bike. then once the two weeks are up you should do a run walk method or run only a few miles a few days a week and cross train the other days during the week.

take it easy and you should be better before you know it .

    hope this helped :)
