Question:

Rush student visa help.?

I just got accepted into a school in London. I am a US resident. I am about to order an expedited passport. Do I apply for the student visa at the same time as the passport, or is it totally separate? I am waiting on forms from the school for my student visa.

Also, can I expedite the student visa? This was a late acceptance so I do not have much time.

Thank you!

  1. Congratulations.

I'd contact the school in London - they will know how all the paperwork should be filled in - phone or email them tomorrow morning (don't forget about the time difference)

Enjoy your time here in the UK

  2. I am having the exact same problem, except that I'm in Canada. I'm going to try and call and explain the situation on Monday to see if I can have the biometrics appointment expedited, but it sounds like there's not much to be done at this point!

  3. You say you are a U.S. resident .   Are you a U.S. citizen or a green card holder?  If you are a U.S. citizen, you need a U.S. passport...and that has nothing whatsoever to do with a student visa.  If you are a green card holder, you need a passport from your home country.  You need to apply for the student visa through the british embassy.   You may not apply for the student visa until you have proof of acceptance from the university in London.  When you first sent your application in, it sure would have been wise to send for your passport and learn how to apply for a student visa then.    I hope you will be able to get your student visa in time.  See site below for info.
