Rusheen Major set to produce a shocking result in John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 2 at Sittingbourne
Rusheen Major has recently enjoyed a couple of confidence boosting victories, and holds an obvious chance of striking hat-trick in second heat of the John Smiths Kent Derby, taking place at Sittingbourne on Sunday, August 05, 2012.
The brindle dog came to this track after doing a wonderful job at Romford. In a 575 metres race, he ran very well to ensure the first position by four and a quarter lengths. C. Allsopp’s trainee carried forward his good work to bag a comprehensive triumph
here at the end of last month.
Despite getting bumped, Balintore Brave’s son succeeded in attaining a handsome lead at the fourth bend. Following an excellent effort, Rusheen Major grabbed the first position by one and a half lengths. After two fine wins, he is brimming with confidence,
and there is no reason why he should not have a big run today.
Among his rivals are: Brinkleys Flyer, Westmead Adonis, Broadway Magic, Fizzypop Supreme and Coyote Bluff. The £150 open race is scheduled to begin at 20:12 GMT.
Brinkleys Flyer recently ran in the Sussex Cup at Hove, and this draw seems quite helpful for him. However, it is hard to trust him after a couple of defeats the black dog suffered lately.
Strength in the second half can see Westmead Adonis power away. Winning three of last five races shows how good rhythm the black dog is in these days. Nick Savva’s trainee looked a bit rusty on last occasion, when finishing third behind Bridge Honcho at
Hove.
Fizzypop Supreme was triumphant on his previous visit, but needs to ping today. The black dog beat Roseville Bullet only by a head’s distance last time. Coyote Bluff does not jump out as realistic winner in a heat of this nature. K. Boon’s charge recently
tasted success twice, but at the lower level. Broadway Magic never runs a bad race, but needs something extra special to defeat this line-up.
Rusheen Major is in such a good shape that his chances of upsetting the giants like Westmead Adonis and Brinkleys Flyer look pretty bright. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
